Excavations on the low hill above Ancient Nemea revealed a prehistoric settlement, which was periodically inhabited during the Neolithic through Late Mycenaean periods (ca. 6500-1200 BC). The exploration began 1924-27 by Carl Blegen and J.P. Harland, and was resumed 1979-86 by the Nemea Valley Archaeological Project.

During my visit in 2020 I found the site at the top of the hill. However, it was a quite limited area, fenced and locked. There are some minor remains of prehistoric walls made of small unworked stones, but in the end there is not very much to see.
